What is Plant Medicine work ?
Plant medicine is a shamanic approach that recognizes sacred plants as conscious beings with healing intelligence. These plants support deep emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual healing. They are used carefully in ceremonial settings to access altered states of consciousness, catalyze transformation, and provide personal insights.
I work specifically with Ayahuasca, a sacred Amazonian brew with centuries-old medicinal and spiritual traditions. My training is rooted in the lineage of the Shipibo-Konibo people of the Peruvian Amazon.
Who is it for?
Plant medicine is intended for those seeking profound personal and spiritual transformation. It requires good physical and mental health, emotional maturity, and a strong inner commitment.
It is not suitable for everyone and should only be undertaken by those who feel truly called to this path. Other modalities may be more appropriate in some cases.
What are the potential benefits?
Physical healing: Releasing energetic blockages, understanding the root of physical symptoms, improving health, and promoting lifestyle change.
Emotional healing: Processing past trauma, gaining perspective, reducing anxiety and depression.
Personal development: Removing inner obstacles, enhancing potential, and cultivating positive habits.
Consciousness exploration: Accessing expanded states of awareness, integrating mystical experiences into daily life.
Embodied spirituality: Reconnecting with meaning and purpose, deepening spiritual inquiry, and developing a broader worldview.
Alignment: Living in harmony with your values and aspirations, guided by the wisdom of the heart.
How is Plant Medicine administered?
Retreats
Held in peaceful, remote locations, ranging from a few days to several weeks, retreats allow for deep cleansing and energetic realignment. Participants follow strict regimens (e.g., dietary restrictions, sexual abstinence, social withdrawal) and engage in practices like yoga, meditation, breathwork, sharing circles, and time in nature.
Ceremonies
Conducted under the guidance of experienced shamans or facilitators. Sacred plants are consumed in ceremonial settings, often accompanied by chants (icaros are the traditional chants in the Shipibo Konibo’s traditions) to guide and support the journey. Dosages and settings are tailored to individual and group needs.
Set & Setting
· Set (Mindset): Clarity, emotional readiness, and intention setting.
· Setting (Environment): A safe, supportive, and sacred space.
Together, these elements create a secure and transformative container.
How to prepare for healing with Plant Medicine? How to integrate?
Engaging with Plant medicine requires a safe, sacred environment and the presence of skilled facilitators. Proper physical, mental, and spiritual preparation is essential, as is support throughout and after the experience.
Preparation and integration are as important as the ceremony itself, ensuring that insights become lasting transformations.
How can I support you?
I support you before, during, and after your journey to ensure safety, clarity, and meaningful integration.
1. Preparation
Preparing body and mind, setting intentions, and understanding dietary and behavioral guidelines.
2. Facilitation
During retreats, I serve as a supportive, intercultural bridge to help guide your experience.
3. Integration
After the retreat, I provide integration support to help you process and embody the experience, aligning it with your life purpose and everyday reality.
I am also working as a facilitator at Jakon Rate, a Shipibo-Konibo family-owned and run non-profit organization that aims to support and preserve the culture and ancestral wisdom of the Shipibo-Konibo in the Peruvian Amazon (Jakon Rate website).
